Training and Development Director

Melissa Ziegler, CVT

Melissa has been a dedicated member of Animal Medical Center since 2017, beginning her journey with no prior experience as a volunteer. Her passion for working with animals led her to a role as a veterinary assistant, where she quickly realized she had found her calling. Determined to expand her knowledge, Melissa enrolled in the veterinary technology program at Joliet Junior College (JJC), graduating in 2020 and earning her Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credential.

Melissa continued her academic journey at Aurora University, where she earned a degree in Human-Animal Studies and Biology. After completing her education, she returned to Animal Medical Center and progressed from ER Assistant Manager to ER Tech Manager, ultimately stepping into her current role as Training and Development Director.

Outside of the hospital, Melissa enjoys spending quality time with her husband, son, and their two dogs. As a family, they love hiking, staying active, and exploring the outdoors. Melissa and her husband are excited to embrace the next chapter of their lives as they continue to grow their family.
