Ultrasound Department Manager
Megan Pedersen, CVT
Megan has been part of our hospital family since 2003 — many clients still remember her early days as the friendly face at the front desk. Since then, she has built an impressive and diverse career, growing from receptionist to veterinary assistant, Certified Veterinary Technician, technician supervisor, and now a skilled abdominal and cardiac ultrasound sonographer.
She graduated from Joliet Junior College’s Veterinary Medical Technology program in 2006 and maintains her Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) license through the state of Illinois. In 2021, Megan completed the Soft Tissue Imaging Program at the Sound Academy of Veterinary Imaging, returning in 2024 to expand her expertise with their Cardiac Imaging Program.
Megan is thrilled to bring advanced ultrasound imaging to our hospital, offering patients faster access to high‑quality diagnostics without the need for specialty‑hospital scheduling. She loves using her training to improve the lives of pets and the people who love them.
Outside the hospital, Megan enjoys adventuring with her energetic family — her husband, two active kiddos, and their rescue dog, Jimmy, along with cats Rexie and Jack. They’re frequent travelers to National Parks, especially in Colorado where her brother and sister‑in‑law live. As a proud local resident, Megan takes great joy in serving the community she calls home.
