Veterinarian-Partner

Dr. Michael Buedel

Dr. Michael Buedel has been a partner at Animal Medical Center of Plainfield since 2001.  He was the ACC Chief-of-Staff from 2001-2022 and has also been a partner at Care Animal Emergency, Oswego Animal Hospital, Hinsdale Animal Hospital, Animal Care Center of Shorewood, and Mallard Point Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Buedel particularly enjoys small animal orthopedic and soft tissue surgery but enjoys internal medicine as well.

Dr. Buedel got his BS in Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1996 and his DVM from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2000 with his clinical year being completed back at the University of Illinois.

Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to share his passion for veterinary medicine on the NBC 5 morning news, Dr. Tony Kremer's local radio show, and speaking to children at local schools.

To help decrease the financial burden that comes with being a veterinary student, he has started two annual scholarships.  One scholarship goes to Ross University and the other goes to the University of Illinois.

Outside of work, Dr. Buedel loves spending time with his wife Jennifer, their two daughters, and their Australian Shepherd mix, Casey.  He also enjoys travelling, skiing, and cheering on his girls in their many activities.

Growing up in the western suburbs of Chicago, he also follows the Bears, Bulls, White Sox, and Fighting Illini closely.
